Dean is a versatile, award-winning director, who works across branded content and commercial projects for a diverse range of clients, including: Adidas, NBA, Snickers, Tate Britain, WWF, and Vogue. In 2018, he directed an interactive documentary called “Change Gout”, which won two Pharma Lions and two Clios. 

Away from filmmaking, he has worked on installations and performed numerous live visuals, including a remix of the Japanese feature film “Kakera” for the opening night of the Raindance Film Festival.

The Green Room: Yungen / Timberland

An explorative musical content piece set in the tropical palm house at Kew Gardens, to launch the new Delphiville sneaker.

Against the backdrop of her track ‘Confidence ft. Maleek Berry, Nana Rogues’, Raye embodies the venturing spirit of the Delphiville as she reflects upon the experiences, influences and choices that have paved the path of her personal journey both as an artist, and as a woman.

Raye joins Yungen as the second artist to feature in Timberland’s content series The Green Room, a concept which seeks to celebrate the culture of green spaces in our cities.

With a brief looking to trace the personal and professional journey of ChangAn’s design director Chen Zheng, this was filmed entirely on location in Chongqing, China. 

The result is a beautifully stylistic commercial navigating various stages of Zheng’s life, focusing on his unquenchable passion for car design. One of three films Dean made for ChangAn.

VCore / Yonex / Wondersauce

Filmed on green screen featuring the Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov, this was a mixed media commercial showcasing Yonex’s bespoke VCore state-of-the-art tennis racket. 

It was Dean’s first time working on a large green screen studio stage.

Here To Create / Havas / Adidas

Based on the original 1970 Telstar football, this commercial launched the Adidas ‘Telstar 18’, the official football for the 2018 World Cup, complete with a distinct pixel-based design and a built-in NFC chip.

The challenge was to create a dynamic ad featuring multiple characters testing out the new ball, and to highlight the innovative tech.

Pleasure Seeker / Galaxy / AMV Flare Studios

Tasked with finding someone who seeks out pleasure in an unconventional way, all research led to the inspirational Katherine Keith, a newcomer to the world of dog racing who competed in the treacherous Yukon Quest (a famous thousand-mile-long international dog race).

The filming took place in Kotzebue in Alaska, which is known for its arctic climate, so the weather was always going to be a concern – as was the fact that most of the budget was spent on getting a two-person crew to the location!

Working alongside Art Director Tom Hingston from Hingston studio. We created a short film to showcase Orlebar Brown’s Spring 2019 collection of stylish swim shorts and accessories. While highlighting Orlebar Brown dedicated tailored approach. Filmed on location in Ibiza over three days featuring Ed Wilding, Francisco Henriques, Salomon Diaz and Mitchell Slaggert.

Young Athlete / Adidas x Gosha Rubchinskiy

In the build-up to the 2018 World Cup, Adidas teamed up with the iconic Russian streetwear designer Gosha Rubchinskiy to create a distinctive set of bespoke football shirts and sweatshirts for each of Russia’s World Cup cities. 

The commercial, filmed on location in the industrial landscape of Dusseldorf, became a raw, urban, gritty fashion film featuring Schalke 04’s superstar midfielder Amine Harit.
